Having bought a lindy cable, these are much better build quality (i.e. don't fall apart like the lindy) and they're only £3 more.

I use this cable to connect my firewire 800 HDD to my Macbook Pro , transfer rates are blisteringly fast, which is great, but this cable could be little bendier;and as i couldn't find a shorter cable i had to have this one, but really 0.5M would have ben suffice. This takes up lot more room in my bag than my previous cable did; which unfortunately i lost. Overall it does what i need it too, and feels very robust....not for you if your on the move with a firewire device, but if your going to use this in your home/office at a workstation, this is perfect for you.
